What is Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba or Konpa?+

💃 SALSA

Energy. Rhythm. Connection.

Salsa is a vibrant partner dance with deep Caribbean and Latin roots, shaped strongly by Cuban and Puerto Rican musical traditions and later developed internationally. Known for its energetic footwork, turns and infectious rhythms, Salsa is social, expressive and full of personality.

The vibe: Energetic • Social • Playful • Upbeat
What happens at a social?+

A dance social is where the community comes together to dance, connect and enjoy the music in a relaxed social setting.

A DJ plays Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba, Konpa or a mix of styles, while dancers rotate partners throughout the event. Some socials also begin with a beginner-friendly class, making them a great place to start.

No performance required. No pressure. Just music, movement and community.

Do I need a partner?+

No partner needed. Social dancing is designed for connection and community, with dancers regularly changing partners throughout the event.

Come on your own, meet new people, and let the dance floor connect you.

What should I wear?+

Wear something comfortable, breathable and easy to move in. Choose secure, dance-friendly shoes and dress to match the venue and occasion.

Feel good. Move freely. Bring your style to the dance floor.

Dance-floor etiquette+

Respect, consent and consideration come first. Ask before dancing, respect personal boundaries, practise good hygiene, and be mindful of others sharing the floor.

Dance safely, be welcoming, and remember: a great dance starts with mutual respect.

How to attend your first social+

Find an event, show up, and enjoy the experience. Arrive early if there’s a beginner class, wear comfortable clothes and shoes, and don’t be afraid to ask someone to dance.

Come curious. Leave connected.
